Relief Childcare Practitioner
£8.75 per hour (Living Wage Foundation)
We have a vacancy for a highly experienced Childcare Practitioner at our nursery; based at the Priory Street Centre, located in York City Centre. The suitable candidate will be qualified to Level 2 or above with at least one years’ experience of working in a childcare setting.
We are looking for someone who will:
- be reliable, flexible, and able to work cooperatively with the whole staff team.
- demonstrate best practice, initiative and creativity, ensuring a high standard of quality childcare and education at all times.
- interact effectively with all the children through play, teaching and learning experiences.
- have experience in offering children opportunities and experiences to enhance their learning and development
- monitor children’s progress and track their development.
- work in positive partnership with nursery children, their families and outside agencies

Safe Places Co-ordinator
Salary: SCP29 £25,672 per annum pro rata
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Duration: Fixed term contract to 31 March 2020
We are looking for a co-ordinator to continue to develop and grow our Safe Places project. This initiative is a voluntary scheme that provides safe and supportive places for disabled/vulnerable people to go and seek help and support. These are mostly places that are open to the general public, such as shops, cafes and visitor centres. The staff will help the individual by giving directions, or contacting a nominated person or helpline and creating a temporary safe place.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuing promotion and development of this valued scheme within the City of York.
We are looking for someone who has an interest in supporting vulnerable people, an ability to coordinate volunteers, organise, deliver and promote events and maintain positive working relationships with key groups/organisations locally and nationally.
