30-37 hours per week

12 month contract, with the possibility of extension

Healthwatch has been set up across England to give patients, people who use services and local communities, a strong voice in influencing decisions about health and social care services. Healthwatch York provides this service across the City of York Council area.

This exciting and vital role has two main objectives; the first is to lead on all aspects of communication and engagement work for Healthwatch York including developing and managing a communications strategy, producing an Annual Report by 30 June each year, and three magazines.

The second part is to take the lead in providing a signposting, information and advice service within Healthwatch York. This includes listening to people and recording their experiences of health and social care so we can feed this back to relevant organisations and Healthwatch England,  signposting people to sources of information and advice, and ensuring volunteers involved in signposting roles are equipped to carry out their duties.

The postholder will also be responsible for managing all operating systems, including our website, and Healthwatch York’s use of CiviCRM, our customer relationship management software.
