Are you interested in challenge, change and business reconstruction?  Do you understand the value of social action and infrastructure support in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE)?

Building on the highly regarded leadership of York CVS by our departing Chief Executive, we are keen to continue our progress. In a tough funding environment, we need a new Chief Executive equipped to lead change, seize opportunities and create a sustainable future for a unique organisation.  This will involve support for the VCSE sector in York, as well as running a conference centre and a nursery, alongside the provision of office space.

You will be resilient, tough and persuasive, experienced in creating new ways of working and effective systems.  You will have the ability to create, develop and maintain new relationships with key York agencies. Whilst believing in the values and ethos of the VCSE, you will be able to take and deliver difficult decisions.

Head of Finance

Salary £ 34,166 (pro-rata for 18 hours per week)

York CVS is a social action organisation. We take steps to make positive change, challenge issues and grow new ideas which strengthen communities.

We are looking for an experienced and forward thinking Head of Finance to join the senior management team.

S/he will be responsible for the delivery of effective financial management across the organisation and have oversight of all systems and processes for directing and controlling financial resources. Additionally, s/he will lead a small team comprising of a Finance Officer and two Payroll Officers.

Soon, York CVS will be developing a new strategy, including a review of our business model. So this will be a challenging and exciting time to join us.

Conference and Events Team Leader

Salary £18,500 – £19,900 (depending on experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and forward thinking Conference and Events Team Leader to provide the day to day running and management of our busy Priory Street Conference Centre in central York. The Conference Centre has successfully grown its revenue over the last 12 months and we are looking for the right person to maintain and improve on this success. The role has line management responsibility for a small team of three.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the highest level of customer service, both internally and externally, ensuring that booking and enquiry systems are efficient, effective and maximise income from the facilities. Supervising the customer service team, they will ensure all conference activity is undertaken to the highest standards and customer satisfaction is improved upon.

Dementia Action Coordinator

Salary: SCP 29, £25,417 per annum pro rata (£5,152 for 7.5 hours per week)

Hours: 7.5 hours per week

Duration: Initial fixed term contract to 31 October 2018 (with a possibility of extension beyond this date)

York CVS is a social action organisation. We take steps to make positive change, challenge issues and grow new ideas which strengthen communities.

We provide the capacity and capability to support the York Dementia Action Alliance (YDAA) in delivering its vision. YDAA is made up of around 50 organisations who have pledged to help to create a ‘dementia friendly York’, within a much wider network of contacts across all areas of the public, private and community sectors.

We are looking for a coordinator to provide temporary project support for 7.5 hours per week until 31 October 2018 – with the possibility of an extension.

They will be responsible for raising awareness of the work we do, maintaining positive working relationships with key groups/organisations and keeping up to date with local, regional and national initiatives/ developments on dementia.

We are committed to ensuring people living with dementia and their carers are at the heart of every decision we make.
