We are currently recruiting relief Childcare Practitioners at our nursery; based at the Priory Street Centre, located in York City Centre. The suitable candidate will be qualified to Level 3 or above.
We are looking for someone who will:
- be reliable, flexible, enthusiastic and committed to working cooperatively with the whole staff team.
- demonstrate best practice, initiative and creativity, ensuring a high standard of quality childcare and education at all times.
- interact effectively with all the children through play and learning experiences.
- work in positive partnership with nursery children, their families and outside agencies.

Ways to Wellbeing (Social Prescribing) Link Worker
Salary: SCP 29 £24,417 per annum pro rata
Hours: 25 hours per week
Duration: 15 months initially
Location: York CVS and agreed primary care/community settings in York
Reporting to: Lead Practitioner
Main Purpose of Job:
We are delighted to offer two new roles in the voluntary sector to develop Ways to Wellbeing social prescribing in York.
Ways to Wellbeing is York CVS version of social prescribing in York. We have been running as a small pilot for 18 months. Our evaluation tells us that: 80% of people who accessed our service experienced a greater sense of wellbeing, 75% of people experienced an improvement in confidence. There has been a 30% decrease in GP appointments for the people we have worked with.
These roles will make an important contribution to scaling up this innovative service. We are looking to recruit two link workers responsible for delivering the service in new geographical areas of York. This will involve developing partnerships with both existing and new primary care and voluntary sector partners.
