Time to Change Champions are people with lived experience of mental health problems who campaign to change the way people think and act about mental health. The Time to Change York Champions network is an opportunity to meet like minded people and campaign together to change attitudes and behaviour.
There are several ways that you can be involved and examples include talking about your mental health and challenge stigma in everyday conversations; using social media and blogs to share your experiences and challenging mental illness stigma online; becoming a champion in your workplace; running your own Time to Change activity; and influencing the work of Time to Change.
Once you register to become a Time to Change Champion you will have access to free online training and an opportunity to attend regional training sessions. Time to Change York currently has a local Coordinator who will be able to help you determine how you would like to be involved if you are not sure at the moment what you would specifially like to do.
Time to change York is guided by both the York Champions and the steering group which includes local professionals as well as representatives from the Champions group. Therefore, we also have occasional bespoke opportunities, such as becoming the Chair, Vice Chair, or Secretary for our monthly Time to Change steering group meeting.
There are several ways to contribute your time and enthusiasm to Time to Change York and we would like to take this time to thank you for your interest.
