Each has a Committee of Trustees to support Scout Leaders and young people, to help deliver the Charity’s objectives by making sure it in solvent and well run. Each Committee has a Treasurer to lead the financial management and governance aspects. We have a few groups who need to develop replacement or additional Treasurers, and support effective handover to new Treasurers. Our overarching Joint Scout Trust in particular is currently looking for a new Treasurer.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
Whilst our Treasurers do not require a formal finance or accountancy qualification, some previous experience in this field would certainly help. Role holders do need to be confident in managing finances and associated processes. All our adult volunteers are also required to demonstrate they can work with adults, following our safety, safeguarding, first aid and data management guidance. Volunteers are expected to support our values of Integrity, Respect, Care, Belief and Co-operation.

When are volunteers needed: Your duties can be managed at a time which suits you, around your other commitments. The specific Joint Scout Trust Treasurer role is required as soon as possible.
