We're looking to recruit volunteers to our shop in the heart of Tadcaster.
All proceeds from the shop will go to fund our life-saving research and innovative screening programmes in Yorkshire. That’s where you come in. Whether you’ve worked in a shop before or not, we need your help to make it a success. So, please, join our friendly team of volunteers - you’ll be surprised at the difference it makes.
Yorkshire Cancer Research is the only charity dedicated to addressing cancer problems right here in Yorkshire. Every day we work with and fund doctors, hospitals, researchers, medical and health experts to diagnose cancer sooner, improve treatments and save lives. We are the largest independent regional cancer charity in England and have been funding life-saving work in our region since 1925, we are not part of a national charity.
Every week in Yorkshire, 594 people are diagnosed with cancer and 270 families loose a loved one to cancer. We can be proud of many things in Yorkshire but when it comes to cancer, a sad fact is that more people in our region get cancer than in many other parts of the country. With your help, we can change this! Our goal is that by 2025, at least 2,000 more people in our region survive cancer every year.
The work we do is only possible with the help and generosity of people across Yorkshire giving their time and raising funds. With your help more families, friends and neighbours across Yorkshire will have the very best chance of living a long and healthy life.
There’s no such thing as a typical volunteer - whatever your skills and experience, we’d love you to join our team in Tadcaster.
When you volunteer at a Yorkshire Cancer Research shop, you’re not only helping to save lives in our region, you’ll also gain a sense of personal satisfaction. By sparing a little time, you can learn new skills, make new friends and become more involved in your community.
