One to one support

This is for anyone wishing to spend time with older and more vulnerable people - enabling them to get the most out of our music sessions. You will attend the music group and sit with someone who may need a bit more help either because they have dementia, hearing problems, learning disabilities or just need a bit more help. You can also accompany them on trips to events in other venues, staying one-to-one with that person.

Location: York | Organisation: Musical Connections

Hours: Various

Benefits:
Musical Connections empowers people to lead happier healthier lives through participating in music. Based in York, our community choirs and weekly music groups in sheltered housing schemes are all open to the public. Everyone is welcome, and we are particularly keen to include vulnerable and older people who may be at risk of social isolation. Our volunteers enhance the experience of those coming to the groups, by offering transport, support and friendship, or contributing to the other aspects of the charity - fundraising, photography, accounts - we have a whole host of needs!
