Role description:
Participants sought for taking part in research looking at the inclusivity of community based social care groups, services and organisations (see definition below).

Participant criteria:

Group 1: Older people (50+) who identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) and have accessed community based groups, services or organisations.

Group 2: Staff/volunteers who have worked in community based groups, services and organisations.

Community based social care groups, services & organisations could include day services, interest and hobby groups, social groups and activities, fitness and activity groups, community focussed groups, charity run groups or services. These do NOT need to be LGBTQ+ or older people specific groups, they just need to be based in your local community.

The research includes one-to-one interviews with a researcher and an optional focus group following the completion of the interview stage of the research (later in 2021). Currently the interviews will be carried out either online using a tool such as Zoom or via the telephone. This will be regularly reviewed in line with COVID restrictions and in-person interviews may resume if applicable.

Interviews will be a maximum of 1.5hours and will be organised at a time suitable to you and through the medium of your choice.

The research is seeking to capture the experiences of older LGB people in accessing community based groups to find out what makes these experiences inclusive (or not) and the experiences of people who work/volunteer in these types of groups in relation to working inclusively (or not).

All interviews will be confidential and no identifying information will be used in the resulting research. Further information about the research and the way your data is managed can be accessed here:
