Role description:
Our First Call information service supports older residents of York to find solutions that will help them remain independent and get the most out of later life. We are looking for a volunteer to help manage the resources the team use, specifically monitoring the leaflets they hold from other organisations, checking they are up to date and contacting organisations for new resources when required.

Tasks and activities
• Contact organisations supporting older people in York to ensure we have relevant information on them.
• Maintain a library of leaflets, re-ordering as required.
• Research services or activities and make information lists – to be sent out to clients as required.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
First Call volunteers will have the ability to work independently, taking responsibility for the leaflet resources. They will be comfortable making calls to other organisations to request up to date leaflets. Organisational skills and attention to detail is important in this role. Age UK York volunteers understand the importance of confidentiality and always follow confidentiality policies.
