Role description:
York Neighbours offers help to those aged 65 and over wishing to stay independent at home.
We are looking for volunteers able to help with practical one-off tasks in Neighbour's (older people's) home. This could be changing a lightbulb, reading a meter, taking down or putting up curtains, technical support with I-pads or computers or DIY-job fixing a door handle or putting up a curtain pole. Just a small amount of your time could make a big difference to one of our Neighbours.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
No minimum time commitment is required. Once trained volunteers will receive email requests advertising tasks city wide.
Practical, basic DIY-skills can be an advantage but not essential for all tasks.

All volunteers are supported from our office in James Street and will be offered training on topics relevant to support older people.
