York Cares

As part of national Volunteers’ Week today (3 June) focuses on Employer Supported Volunteering, and we’d like to shine the spotlight on the fantastic York Cares, an independent employee-volunteering charity which brings businesses, employees and communities together to make York a better place!

Located at the University of York, some of York Cares projects are co-delivered by employers and university student volunteers, who pool their time and energy, business experience and expertise to make a positive impact on our community.

Working closely with City of York Council and York CVS to address community needs, York Cares employers make an effective and strategic investment to help those who need it most. York Cares employee-volunteers give over 10,000 hours of their own time each year to over 200 worthwhile community organisations and schools in some of York’s most disadvantaged areas.

See how you can get involved in their programmes below or visit York Cares’ website for more information.
