Age UK York supports people over the age of 60 within the York area and their families.  The team at the priory street centre includes, Bridge the gap which provides home care support, OOH Escorted transport to provide transport home from York hospital, Keep Your Pet to provide animal fostering and walking to owners in crisis. The  Day club scheme, which provides  regular day centres for older people and  Feather Duster Cleaning and Home help service which supports people who are struggling with domestic tasks..


The Association of Child Protection Professionals is a charity which has been driving improvement in child protection for nearly 40 years by working with those in the field to influence policy and practice. Our members include social workers, health professionals, teachers, police officers, and many others working in or researching child protection in the UK. We provide access to research; host quality and affordable CPD; publish our journal Child Abuse Review; and facilitate peer support.

Independent Care Group (ICG) is the recognised representative body for independent care providers (private and voluntary) in York and North Yorkshire. We work on behalf of care providers for all client groups including care homes, domiciliary care agencies, supported living and extra care housing providers, and day care centres in the private and voluntary parts of the independent sector. 

Mainstay is a York based registered charity that was established in 1999. The organisation offers support to people who have a broad variety of mental health concerns. We provide a safe environment to access support and help to reduce isolation through a range of individual or group support packages. Our person-centred approach places the individual at the heart of their own recovery journey, which is underpinned by a service model that incorporates elements of social care, education and practical support. Older Citizens Advocacy York (OCAY) is an independent charity providing 1-2-1 advocacy to help those older members of the community in York to speak up about the issues that matter to them.  We also provide drop-ins and training opportunities to encourage self-advocacy and advocacy-awareness. Priory Street Nursery is a a community Children’s Nursery that has been at the heart of Bishophill in York since 1992.

The mission of re:shape is to keep communities safe by reducing the risk sexual harm. Our goal is no more victims. We do this by empowering the community to ‘be the change’. With support from volunteers we offer interventions to people who are a potential risk, deliver education & awareness sessions and offer a tailored service to businesses. Core to our approach is the belief that we all have the power to make a difference within our community.

Salvere is a community interest company which helps people to organise care and support. We provide specialist advice and support services so that people can employ their own care teams and purchase care solutions.  We offer payroll and managed account services too.

Survive is a registered charity offering emotional support and counselling to survivors (aged 18+) of rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, ritual abuse and any other forms of sexual violence. We also provide support for survivors’ partners and family members, as well as healthcare professionals seeking guidance on working safely with sexual trauma.


Tribe is a working space based in York City Centre for people who are starting up or running their own businesses and need office space on either a flexible or dedicated basis.

Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity dedicated to supporting victims of crime and traumatic incidents in England and Wales. The purpose of VS is to provide specialist help to support people to cope and recover to the point where they feel they are back on track with their lives.


The Welfare Benefits Unit offers specialist welfare benefits advice to those who work with members of the public.  Please note we don’t provide advice to members of the public. The WBU also delivers an extensive training programme throughout the year consisting of our 3-day Introduction to Benefits course along with a range of one day courses. York Carers Centre aims to support unpaid carers of all ages throughout York. We provide a range of information, advice and support and enable carers views and experience to be heard, influencing local and national policies and practice. We aim to improve carers’ quality of life and ability to fulfil their own goals alongside supporting their caring role.
