York CVS is keen to recruit at least three additional trustees. Trustees play an essential role in setting our strategic direction and checking that we are on track to deliver our aims and objectives.
The coronavirus pandemic has sent shock waves through the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, with many organisations facing unprecedented falls in income. At the same time, thousands of people have volunteered during lockdown – a surge of goodwill that will help us rebuild in the months and years ahead.
With this in mind, we’re looking for volunteers to join our board of trustees and help shape our future. We’ll work together on a new strategic plan to deliver two key aims: to encourage voluntary action in York and promote social inclusion for all.
All trustees need strategic vision, the ability to think creatively, good judgement and a willingness to speak their mind. Because we want to bring extra skills and experience to the board, we’ll be particularly pleased if your experience includes promoting equality and diversity, working with BAME communities, PR and marketing, law, property management or IT. Above all, we want people who are as passionate about the VCSE sector as we are!
If you want to know what it’s like to be a trustee at York CVS, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll set up a call with our chair, David Harbourne. Once you’re ready to apply, download the information pack and send us your application before the closing date of *Wednesday 22 July 2020.
We look forward to hearing from you!
*Applications received after the closing date will be considered later in the year.
