Specialist Debt Advice Worker (Fixed Term Contract)

We are currently seeking an experienced Specialist Debt Advice Worker to join our team on a Fixed Term basis. We have an opening for the period 1st September 2019 until the 31st March 2020.

You will provide independent, impartial Debt Advice sessions to members of the public requiring help with their debt problems. Advice will be provided in face to face sessions, by telephone, e-mail and video call and through any other reasonable channel.

The advice will be provided in accordance with AQS Casework Standards.
Responsibilities include:

• Deliver Debt Advice sessions to individual clients which lead to a recommended course of action which will improve their situation and aim to resolve their over-indebtedness.
• Evidence advice through comprehensive case records on AdvicePro for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, and statistical monitoring and report preparation.
• Ensuring personal knowledge and skills are up to date to ensure effectiveness in meeting work objectives.; and keeping up to date with relevant changes in legislation, QA systems, relevant legislation, case law, policies and procedures and trends in the sector
• Attend appropriate training and personal study to achieve continuing professional development.

The post involves lone working and is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
