Theatre@41 Ltd are a registered charity dedicated to providing a viable Arts Centre for community arts organisations and emerging professional companies. We do this by allowing our hirers and users to treat the space as if it were their own at an affordable rate. Enabling them to create fresh and unique experiences for the audiences that walk through the door. Based at 41 Monkgate, York we sit behind the Trinity Methodist church. Making us a true hidden gem in this fantastic, historical city.
Over the past two years we have increased our revenue by bringing in new hirers. We are now home to one of York’s newest and busiest stage schools catering from the age of five years through to adulthood. We house local and amateur theatre companies and professional ones, university societies, we are the base to one of York’s groups for adult with learning difficulties and for the first time this year we will be included in the annual Yorkshire Fringe as a venue for the festival.
We are seeking trustees to become part of the Executive & Non-executive board, each with specific skills to create and build the future of Theatre@41. Our vision is to be ‘a space where imagination knows no limits’ and we aim to do this by providing a ‘flexible, affordable and quality performing arts space for all types of users’.
In order to achieve our vision we have identified five key growth initiatives:
1) Develop the physical space, 2) Raise the profile of our charity, 3) Build our resource, 4) Grow our revenue streams, 5) Develop fundraising capabilities & opportunities
As a trustee you will work closely with a team of up to twelve people in a dedicated role to achieve these initiatives. You will be given ownership of your area and be expected to plan and deliver your part of the growth strategy. We are looking for strategic thinkers who are action orientated and not afraid of hard work and commitment.
This is the perfect opportunity for anyone wishing to make a difference to join our team. As we start this busy yet rewarding journey.
