The IDAS Trustee Board seeks an Hon. Treasurer to support the Board with strategic financial advice for the charity.
Independent Domestic Abuse Services (IDAS) is a growing and innovative charity. Last year IDAS helped more than 7000 people and over 4000 families affected by domestic abuse. IDAS is Yorkshire’s largest charity addressing domestic abuse, serving North Yorkshire, York, Barnsley and Sheffield. With 130 staff, 50 volunteers and a professional in-house finance team, we work to help anyone affected by domestic abuse – providing support in the home, the community, the courts, refuge accommodation; running projects in schools, universities and businesses.
This is an exciting time to join the trustee board of our fast-expanding charity which now has an income of over £4 million a year. IDAS has grown because we have proven effective and innovative ways of working. The immediate challenge for the IDAS trustee board is to ensure consolidation of our growth while continuing to develop our services and to diversify our income streams, so that we can provide the best support possible and extend our successful support to even more people.
Our Board of 12 Trustees and additional committee members gives overall strategic direction to the charity and ensures everything we do is consistent with our overall aims.

The role of the Hon Treasurer requires an estimated commitment of 10 hours/month and the ability to attend four board meetings a year at various times and locations in Yorkshire, plus related meetings.

You will gain novel experience and find different ways of working as a voluntary sector trustee. You will join a committed and enthusiastic Board team from a range of backgrounds who work together for the benefit of victims of domestic abuse or sexual violence.
