York CVS NET
The aim of YorkCVSnet is allow
quick exchange of information between voluntary
and community organisations in York. Views
expressed in messages are not necessarily those of York CVS.
All emails circulated via the list
will automatically have the name of the
list [YorkCVSnet] in square brackets added to the start of the
subject line.
To subscribe to YorkCVSnet
Send the following message
"SUBSCRIBE YORKCVSNET" in the text (not the subject
line) of an email to
listserver@nyfvo.org.uk
You will then be requested by email to
authenticate your request - this is to
stop other people subscribing you without your agreement.
Until you authenticate
your request you will not receive messages via YorkCVSnet.
To unsubscribe from (leave)
YorkCVSnet
Send the following message
"UNSUBSCRIBE YORKCVSNET" in the text (not the
subject line) of an email
to listserver@nyfvo.org.uk
You will receive an email confirming
your unsubscription from NYFVOnet.
To send information for circulation via
YorkCVSnet
Only subscribers can send information to
YorkCVSnet. YorkCVSnet is moderated
- this means that all messages are seen by a member of the
York CVS staff before
distribution. Send the information, exactly as you
would like it to appear, in an email to yorkcvsnet@nyfvo.org.uk
Please include your name, organisation
and email address in the message. Do
not include attachments or graphics - these will not be
circulated via
YorkCVSnet.
To reply to a message on YorkCVSnet
Do NOT reply to yorkcvsnet@nyfvo.org.uk
- unless you want your reply to be
circulated to all YorkCVSnet subscribers. Please insert the
correct email address for
your reply - this should be given in the message to which
you are replying.
To temporarily stop email being
delivered.
To stop email being delivered to your
email address, for example if you are
going on holiday and do not want to return to a full mail box,
send the following command
"NOMAIL YORKCVSNET" in the text (not the subject
line) of an email to listserver@nyfvo.org.uk
You can also specify a date when the
NOMAIL setting will automatically expire
as YYYY-MM-DD. For example to have your email automatically
start again on 31 December 2002
the command should be "NOMAIL
YORKCVSNET 2002-12-31"
To cancel NOMAIL send the following
command "MAIL YORKCVSNET" in the text (not the
subject line) of an
email to listserver@nyfvo.org.uk
If NOMAIL specified a date for
restarting it, then the MAIL command will
override that and cause mail to be restarted immediately.
Please note that it is not
possible to receive a copy of emails that you miss
because of NOMAIL.
