Forums & partnerships administered by York CVS

Networking and partnership work is of growing importance for the work of the voluntary and community sector and York Council for Voluntary Service. This area of CVS activity enables voluntary and community groups to:

  • share news and information
  • participate in partnership bodies
  • learn about and comment on national, regional and local policy initiatives

The Voluntary Sector Forum for Learning Difficulties brings together around 65 voluntary and community sector organisations and interested individuals who are working to improve the quality of life for people with learning difficulties in York and the surrounding area.

York Voluntary Sector Forum for Mental Health brings together nearly 70 groups whose work involves improving the mental health of people in York.

The V0-19CE network provides a forum for voluntary and community sector organisations working with children, young people and families in York. The forum feeds into a variety of partnership groups and boards across local authority and health partners within York's YorOK Children's Trust arrangements.

 

Connected York buttonThe Older People's Network (OPeN) is a voluntary sector service provider forum.  The forum is for services working to improve the lives of older people and people with physical or sensory impairment. The group meets quarterly, at the offices of York Blind & Partially Sighted Society. 

The Volunteering Network provides a forum for all those concerned with volunteering in the city. It includes both volunteer managers, and those with an interest in developing their use of volunteers to help meet key objectives for the city. It is open to the voluntary, statutory and business sectors.

The Voluntary Sector Strategic Forum provides an opportunity for a wide range of people in local voluntary organisations to get together to learn about and discuss broader issues of common concern – for example the Local Stretegic Partnership, funding cuts, big society and the future of our dynamic voluntary sector.

York Social Enterprise Network is a local coalition of social enterprises with a wide range of members, and their trading activities range from training provision, individual counselling and graphic design through to landscape gardening, building management services and manufacturing.

The Forum is open to any voluntary, community or faith organisation or social enterprise working with, or potentially working with, people who have been given personalised budgets to spend on their care or activities.

Volunteering York is the multi-agency partnership leading on the strategic development of York's volunteering offer. It has representatives from the voluntary, statutory and private sectors all focused on increasing the number of high-quality volunteering opportunities and making the environment where volunteering can thrive.

The York Community Buildings Network is aimed at those who manage and maintain buildings, office space and other property assets for local voluntary or community organisations.

Shiney (Social and Healthcare Information Network and Engagement, York) brings together voluntary organisations and statutory partners with an interest in health in its widest sense.
