Are You 14-16? Check out the new Feel Involved project. Are You 16-25? Do you want to learn new skills, make new friends and have fun York’s vinvolved team aim to inspire people from 16 to 25 years old by creating a range of new volunteering opportunities in York that match your interests. There are over 500 volunteering opportunities that you can find out more about by going to the www.vinspired.com website. Just type in 'York' in the search bar and find opportunities in the area, or contact Charlotte Smithson on 01904 621133. If you are already passionate about volunteering & would like to help the vinvolved team get more young people involved, why not join Tash & Charlie's Angels. Help the vinvolved Team promote volunteering through: designing a new magazine promoting volunteering at monthly socials promoting a range of exciting events, such as Spontaneous Acts of Kindness day (13th Aug) Alternatively, if there is something in your community that could be improved through people power, the vinvolved team can support you with your own ideas for volunteering projects! Top Tip: With funding cuts resulting in 6000 fewer university places for 2010-2011, and applications to UK universities up by 23% this year, getting a place at university is becoming increasingly difficult. Volunteering is a great way for you to get course- and career-related work experience on your CV, which could help you contend for degree places!
