The CVS offers a range of services to charities, voluntary
organisations and community groups in York to help them do
their work more effectively. This includes information and

A clearing house for volunteers, giving information/advice on
suitable volunteering opportunities. The Centre supports
volunteers and voluntary organisations, encouraging new

ACCOUNTING SCHEME (YCAS)
Provides help & advice on all
aspects of book-keeping and charity accounting to voluntary

JESSIE'S FUND helps seriously
ill and disabled to communicate through the creative use of

YORK WOMEN'S COUNSELLING
SERVICE provide a counselling service for women in York and

YORK CREDIT UNION is a
community based savings and loans service available to anyone
who works or lives in York. All profits are returned to
members as a dividend. York Credit Union is a voluntary
organisation and is authorised and regulated by the Financial

WRVS ASSOCIATION was started in
March 1973 to form a friendly link between past and present
members of the WRVS. The Association is a legal part of WRVS
and has the added commitment to maintain contact with, and
give all possible help to WRVS members as they inevitably grow

to survivors of childhood sexual abuse through a range of
services including a telephone support line, support groups,
advocacy and 1-1 support, a library and information resources
on related subjects and a website with self help materials and

YORK WOMEN'S AID provide
advice, emotional support and information to women who are
experiencing or who have experienced domestic abuse and who
are living in the community. They enable women to live safely
in their homes and challenge society's attitude to violence

BON SOCIAL CLUB operates
as part of Brunswick Organic Nursery, and is a social club run
by people with learning difficulties. They provide
opportunities for people with learning difficulties to get out
in the evenings and weekends, and the group offer the support
needed to access a range of local amenities as well as

RSPB works to protect
birds and the environment. Their conservation work encompasses
issues such as climate change, agricultural intensification,
expansion of urban areas and transport infrastructure, as well
as the over-exploitation of the sea, which all pose major

INCLUSION HOUSING is a
social enterprise established to provide good quality
accommodation and related housing management and maintenance
services for vulnerable people. The organisations philosophy
is built around the key principles of choice, rights,
citizenship, independence and inclusion.
MAINSTAY is a group of
mental health service users who work together with service
providers to improve services in the area. The group is also
involved in planning, provision and monitoring of mental
health services and act as a voice to the service user
