Honorary Treasurer
York CVS (Council for Voluntary Service)

This position will involve attendance at approximately 12 early evening meetings per year. The Treasurer will work closely with the Head of Finance, Alison Smith, and senior staff in making decisions affecting CVS and giving advice to the Board of Trustees. It is anticipated that the Treasurer will have significant financial experience and an understanding of the voluntary sector. Download the full role description for more details.

This is a post of 20 hours per week, salary of £8,450 pa (£8.13 ph) to work afternoons and based at 70 Walmgate, York.

Knowledge of PAYE, VAT and computerised payroll/accounts essential, Sage Payroll and Sage Line 50 Accounts would be preferable.

Treasurer
Candi, Changing parent aspirations through removing barriers imposed by society

Candi are looking for a new treasurer and would be interested in anybody who might like to fill the position. This might be a parent, grandparent etc.

The job mainly involves paying invoices and registering payments and receipts on an Excel spreadsheet.

The person would also need to be able to attend committee meetings, chair a finance sub group and keep abreast of financial bids that have been made by the committee members to various charitable organisations. Training and support would be given where necessary and if somebody was interested and wanted to have a trial period that could be arranged as well.

Volunteer Board Members

Age Concern York has been actively providing support and services for the older people of the City of York for 40 years.  We have recently increased the size of our Board of Trustees and are looking for some new Board Members to complete our team as we move into the new era as AGE UK York .

To be effective we would ideally like Trustees who come from a wide range of backgrounds and who can bring with them the professional skills required to run a charity business in the digital age.

You would need to have a keen interest in issues that relate to and affect the older people of our society, and want to work with this thriving organisation to ensure that our older people in York receive the support, services and entitlements that they deserve.
