Sessional Young Carer Activity Workers 

Salary £6.63 per hour (NJC Scale Point 7 )

Variable hours evenings, weekends and school holidays

We have received funding from BBC Children in Need for one year to support Young Carers aged 8 to 18. The funding is for organised trips and activities during school holidays both in and outside the York area.

We require a pool of sessional workers to help us run these. The activities range from 3 hours to 1 or 2 days and may involve evenings and occasional overnight stays away from home. Must be sensitive to needs of vulnerable young people. Experience of Youth work preferred. Access to a car and ability to transport young people is essential.

An enhanced CRB disclosure will be required.

Closing Date: 18th March.

Our Celebration

Our Celebration is an established and successful York based charity helping adults recovering from mental ill-health to lead full and rewarding lives

Young Persons Mentor (part time)

18.75 Hours per Week - £19,000 pro rata

This new project, funded by Comic Relief for three years aims to help young people aged between 18 and 25 recover from a variety of mental health conditions and move-on into mainstream activity in the local community.

As part of our mentoring team you will be working directly with young people, helping them plan for the future, overcome any barriers they might face and succeed in achieving their goals and ambitions. This is a re-advertisement, previous applicants need not apply.

Work Focussed Mentor (part time)

18.75 Hours per Week - £21,000 pro rata

This new project, funded by the Lloyds TSB Foundation for two years is designed to help adults recovering from mental ill-health to move-on from mental health services and explore their potential to return to paid employment. 

As part of our mentoring team you will be working directly with clients to help them develop their CV’s and interview skills, undertake jobsearch and provide ongoing support once in employment to help overcome any difficulties that might arise. Volunteer Coordinator (part time)

18.75 Hours per Week - £21,626 pro rata

This new project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund for five years aims to develop the support we give to our current volunteer team and create opportunities for new volunteers over the coming years.

As a key member of our team, you will be working across all of our projects supporting individual volunteers, delivering training, promoting the work the organisation and helping us to achieve our goal of supporting people to recover from mental ill-health.

Welfare Advice Officer, York

Starting salary:  £19,716 (pro rata) pa, plus benefits

Hours of work: 17.5 per week

This is an exciting and challenging post for someone who has experience of working with residents in their communities.  We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is able to demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality customer service and a flexible approach to work.

You will need:

 ·        a commitment to the development of Welfare Services;

·        experience of providing direct advice, assistance and information on benefit related issues;

·        the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation, rules and regulations;

·        a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of relevant Welfare Benefit and Tax Credit Legislation.
