Independent Domestic Abuse Services

 

Independent Domestic Abuse Services is a dynamic and developing voluntary sector organisation providing emergency accommodation, advice and advocacy services, tenancy support and specialist domestic abuse interventions in the York, Hambleton and Richmond areas.

 

We require the following:

 

Children’s Advocacy Worker working across Hambleton and Richmondshire (18.5 hours)

You will provide support to children under the age of 11 who have experienced domestic abuse.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of issues relating to domestic abuse, experience of working with children and knowledge of child protection procedures.

Salary: £20,736 pro rata + 5% non-contributory pension

This is a fixed term contract for one year in the first instance.

 

Women’s Support Worker based in the refuge in York (18.5 hours)

You will provide practical, emotional support and advocacy services to women and children who are living in refuge accommodation in York.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of issues relating to domestic abuse, be practical and empathic.

Salary: £17,781 - £20,736 pro rata + 5% non-contributory pension. This is a fixed term contract for two years in the first instance.

 

For Women’s Support Worker post women only applications under the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 section7 (2) (e) applies.

 

An enhanced CRB disclosure will be required for the successful applicants; however a criminal conviction does not necessarily preclude an applicant from applying.

North Yorkshire Forum for Voluntary Organisations

Partnerships Manager

37 hours per week

£27,594 – £28,919 (cost of living increase due 1 April 2008)

 

Working with the voluntary and community sector (VCS) and statutory sector partners in North Yorkshire, to support VCS engagement with the Local Area Agreement. Providing support to VCS representatives, and working with Forum partners. The post holder will also manage a small staff team.

 

Closing date: 12 noon, 24 July 08.   Interviews:  1 August 08.

 

 

Children and Young Peoples VCS Network Development Officer

37 hours per week

 

£23,749 – £25,230 (cost of living increase due 1 April 2008)

 

Providing support to the VOX network, and supporting the development of the proposed VCS children’s networks. Supporting VCS engagement with Integrated Youth Support and the Children’s Workforce Development Strategy.

 

Closing date: 12 noon, 24 July 08.  Interviews: 4 August 08.
