Top Tip: With funding cuts resulting in 6000 fewer university places for 2010-2011, and applications to UK universities up by 23% this year, getting a place at university is becoming increasingly difficult. Volunteering is a great way for you to get course and career-related work experience on your CV, which could help you contend for degree places!
