Volunteer Internship - We Are Your Emporium - Shop Manager

is a consortia of voluntary, charitable & social enterprise organisations working together to open up a 'pop up shop'. The consortia will take over a vacant shop for a 6 month period with the aim to develop new income streams through trading in a city centre shop. The income gained through trading hopes to sustain local services. The shop will be open at the end of March.

The consortia  looking to recruit a volunteer to this internship who would benefit from being involved in this project. Although this internship is based on a  shop managerial role, the opportunity would suit somebody interested in working with in the voluntary, community or social enterprise sector or interested in social policy and community development.

The consortia are looking for a self-motivated & well organised individual/s to oversee the day-to day management of the shop, which will be manned by a different organisation each day . The successful volunteer will be asked to commit 2/4 hours a day when the shop is open over a 6 month period. In addition, the volunteer would have the opportunity to support & develop the direction of this project and make recommendations the steering group as to the development of the project past the 6 month period.
