Voluntary sector forum for mental health
York Voluntary Sector Forum for Mental Health brings together nearly 70 groups whose work involves improving the mental health of people in York.
The role of the Forum is to support and promote the voluntary sector contribution to mental health services, to encourage co-operation and partnership between agencies and with statutory services, and to provide a voluntary sector perspective to local authority and NHS planning.
More specifically, the group:
- nominates representatives to multi agency bodies,
- contributes to policy development by undertaking limited studies and reports,
- provides a forum where best practice in improving mental health can be identified and shared,
- updates members on developments in mental health matters both nationally and locally.
