Support young people in Strensall- volunteers needed!
Hurst Hall Community Centre supports the community in Strensall by providing a range of social and recreational activities.
We are currently recruiting for volunteers that would be willing to support our children and young peoples activities.
We currently have the following opportunities:
Playworker- Thurs 5.45 - 8.15pm.
This is a fun filled child centred session for children aged 8-11 years, activities within the session include computers. wii, cooking, craft, sports, games and trips.
School holiday activity staff (Easter/summer holidays)
Flexible day time hours supporting on site activities and day trips.
Residential support worker (summer holidays)
This opportunity is working for a week with a small group of young people taking part in an outdoor education setting.
(Volunteers must be over 18 to take part in this activity)
We are also looking for a group requiring a short term project as our young people would like to do a big brother type activity but require people to film the activity and produce.
We would also like someone who could Knit, is skilled in arts and craft and likes to cook although these are not essential.
Full support and supervision isgiven during volunteering within our organisation, and travel expenses are refunded.
