York CVS regularly helps local people to set up new voluntary and community groups. We know that it can seem quite daunting to work out what to do first. Our Development staff can help you through the maze and give you information and advice to:

• Help you think through what your new organisation will do
• Understand your options in terms of legal structures, and choose the most suitable one for your needs
• Find funding for your new group
• Set up the right policies and procedures so that your organisation is operating safely and legally
• Recruit new volunteers to help in your work
• Put you in touch with other local organisations doing similar work
