KhaoZ Media

KhaoZ Media are an accessible and inclusive youth-led voluntary and community youth media production team in York.
They engage volunteers in community action projects through community media and new technologies. They encourage creativity through innovative uses of media and new technologies and provide positive activities for young people to make positive contributions to local communities.
They provide informal and formal learning opportunities to develop social, personal and practical skills leading towards national accreditation through the Arts Award and progression route, support onto work experience, full/part-time education and work and other volunteering opportunities.
They provide young people, voluntary and community groups the opportunity to get their voices heard, express their own opinions, ideas and views through the production of high-quality community media such as film, television, print, radio and online platforms.
They provide accessible community media resources and services for voluntary and community groups, and a platform for those groups to have a voice through media. They work in partnership with voluntary, community, statutory and commercial organisations, and participate in pan-European intercultural youth media projects through the Youth4Media Network.
KhaoZ Media run weekly sessions at the IT Suite at Explore York Library Learning Centre on Thursday evenings from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. If you're interested in attending any of these sessions, contact Kirsty-Lou Watson, Volunteer Co-ordinator at kirsty@khaozmedia.org.uk.
