HMP Full Sutton seeks more volunteer Independent Monitoring Board members

The Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) perform a vital watchdog role on behalf of Ministers and the general public, in providing lay and independent oversight of prisons.
The IMB ensure that people in custody are treated fairly and that proper standards of care and decency are maintained. The IMB monitor the range and adequacy of programs preparing prisoners for release. In addition we also listen to the prisoners' requests and complaints, privately and in confidence.

Christian Debt Line seek volunteer Web Designer/ Administrator

Christian Debt Line are looking to recruit a volunteer to help with redesigning, maintaining, and maximising use of our website.

Christian Debt Line is a local charity providing national support with general debt solutions, defence against home repossession and defence against bailiff action. These services are provided free of charge and we are dependent entirely upon charitable donations.

The word 'enterprising' is bandied around an awful lot at the moment;  don't we all feel exhorted to be  more enterprising for each and every one of our waking hours, while harbouring a nagging sense of what does it really mean for me and my organisation? Before you move on take a moment to have a look at some of the definitions of enterprising that I found when I started asking myself the same question.   If these don't describe just about every voluntary group or charity I come across I don't know what will!

Dig In- Community garden volunteers needed

Dig In- Green Fingered volunteers needed to help community garden project:

The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is a local charity helping to secure the future of many important habitats and species which might otherwise be lost. The Dig In project is based in York and is a community project that facilitates communities to create Community Gardens and learn about food growing, healthy living and wildlife. The project is currently working in Westfield, Clifton, The Groves and Heworth.

Clarence Gardens Association needs volunteers to help run activities:

Clarence Gardens Association provides activities and support primarily for people with enduring mental health issues and learning disabilities. The aim of the organisation is to provide a social space for beneficiaries to develop skills and interests. In order to do this we rely on support from volunteers to develop and help run various sessions.
